Star of Fire

A small candle is lit, with the combination of flame and lens flare producing a star pattern.

An assignment in one of my early photo classes required us to take photos wherein light was central to the image. I thought of all the different ways fire can present itself, and knew that was what I wanted to photograph. Luckily for me, this assignment produced some of my favorite abstract-ish pieces.
